Program Description
Visit one of Sri Lanka's oldest Buddhist temples and discover its fascinating history on this cultural excursion. Nestled among impressive granite rock formations near Unawatuna, Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya offers a peaceful atmosphere and a unique insight into the island's rich Buddhist heritage.
After hotel pick-up, travel to Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya, a temple dating back to the 3rd century BC. Beautifully set among giant granite boulders, this historic sanctuary is home to an impressive 9-metre Buddha statue and ancient wall paintings depicting Buddhist themes and the temple's long history. Surrounded by nature and tranquillity, it is an ideal place to experience the spiritual side of Sri Lanka.
After the visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
