During the tour, you'll visit the Sinharaja Forest Reserve, a site recognised as both a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. As Sri Lanka's last extensive area of primary tropical rainforest, Sinharaja is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and remarkably well-preserved ecosystem.
Accompanied by your guide, you'll walk through lush rainforest trails while discovering an extraordinary variety of endemic species found nowhere else in the world. The reserve is home to unique trees, insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, making it one of the most important biodiversity hotspots in Asia.
The forest also provides a habitat for Asian elephants and the elusive Sri Lankan leopard, although sightings cannot be guaranteed. More commonly, you'll encounter the distinctive purple-faced langur, an endemic monkey species that has become one of the symbols of Sri Lanka's unique wildlife.
