Program Description
An unforgettable two-day journey through southern Vietnam awaits you. You'll discover the vibrant energy of Ho Chi Minh City and the green landscapes of the Mekong Delta. This tour is a perfect blend of history, culture and local flavours, with a focus on everyday Vietnamese life.
On the first day, you will depart early in the morning towards Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon - a place where French colonial heritage meets modern skyscrapers. Your exploration begins at the Reunification Palace, a landmark where key decisions shaped Vietnam's future. You will then visit the War Remnants Museum, a profoundly moving place that presents the realities and consequences of war through photographs, documents, and personal stories.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will continue discovering the city’s colonial charm. You will stop at the iconic Central Post Office, an impressive French-style building that is still in operation today, and take photos near Notre Dame Cathedral. You will also see the elegant City Hall and the historic Opera House, both outstanding examples of colonial architecture. The day concludes with a visit to the Saigon Skydeck at Bitexco Tower, offering spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of the city skyline and the Saigon River. In the evening, you will check in at your hotel.
On the second day, after breakfast, you will head towards the lush region of the Mekong Delta, often called the “rice bowl” of Vietnam. Your first stop will be Vinh Trang Pagoda, a remarkable religious site combining Buddhist, Chinese, and European architectural elements. From My Tho Boat Station, you will board a traditional wooden boat and begin a relaxing cruise along the Mekong River.
During the cruise, you will pass several Delta islands and stop at Unicorn Island, where you will experience local life up close. You will visit a small workshop producing traditional coconut candy, taste fresh seasonal fruits in a tropical orchard, and enjoy a performance of Don ca Tai Tu - traditional Southern Vietnamese music recognised by UNESCO. A peaceful sampan ride through narrow canals, surrounded by lush vegetation and calm waters, will allow you to appreciate the serene beauty of the delta fully.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will begin your return journey to Mui Ne, arriving in the evening.
The order of sightseeing and the program may be subject to change.
