Program Description

In Seville, some of the greatest culinary stories are hidden in the smallest establishments. Unassuming bars, old wine shops and family recipes are as much a part of the city as its famous landmarks. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the Santa Cruz neighbourhood, where historic bars offer flavours and stories passed down through generations. During your guided food tour, you'll discover places that have shaped Seville's culinary traditions over the years and experience Andalusia at its most delicious.

Your journey through the narrow streets of the old Jewish Quarter begins at a bar dating back to 1870. As the oldest establishment of its kind in this part of the city, it's a place where history meets Seville's enduring tapas culture. Accompanied by your guide, you'll hear stories about this historic bar and discover why small local establishments have played such an important role in everyday life in Seville for generations.

Your next stop will prove that size has nothing to do with significance. Seville's smallest bar became famous for introducing orange wine to the city, a drink that has since earned a special place in local traditions. This family-run establishment shows how a single idea can become part of an entire city's culinary identity.

The tour continues to Seville's second-oldest bar, housed in a former wine shop. Here, regional flavours take centre stage - sobrasada, salt cod and salmorejo, a traditional Andalusian chilled tomato soup. You'll discover combinations of ingredients that have long been part of the local cuisine and learn about the stories behind traditional recipes.

Your culinary journey concludes at a family-run bar in Seville's historic centre. Here, you'll experience one of Andalusia's most enjoyable traditions - sharing plates of food around the table. Regional specialities and a traditional dessert provide a delicious finale to the tour.

In Santa Cruz, food brings people together, sparks conversations and keeps memories alive. Historic bars, local flavours and your guide's stories will help you discover a side of Seville that goes beyond the usual tourist experience. After all, sometimes the best way to get to know a city is to step inside a bar you might otherwise have walked straight past.
