Program Description
Start your visit to Montserrat with a ride on the cable car that has been carrying passengers from the lower station towards the famous mountain since 1930. As you gain height, the valley gradually falls away below you, while the rugged rock formations and sweeping Catalan landscape come increasingly into view.
As you ascend on the Montserrat Cable Car, panoramic views open up across the surrounding hills, valleys and dramatic mountain slopes. The ride offers a spectacular introduction to the Montserrat massif, with stunning scenery unfolding along the way.
Once you arrive at the upper station, you’ll be just a short distance from Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey, one of Catalonia’s most important pilgrimage sites. The cable car provides a comfortable and scenic way to reach Montserrat, combining breathtaking mountain views with the history and character of this iconic destination.
Important information
- Cable car frequency: every 15 minutes.
- Dogs are allowed (on a leash and muzzled).
- The cable car service may be interrupted due to adverse weather conditions.
- Follow the yellow 'Web Ticket' signage and show your smartphone ticket to get direct access to the cable car.
