Program Description
Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona is a place where you can discover the work of one of the most important Catalan artists of the 20th century. Your visit will allow you to follow the development of his distinctive style and explore works inspired by Surrealism, Fauvism and Expressionism.
The museum was created through the collaboration of Joan Miró and his friend, architect Josep Lluís Sert. The building itself is an important part of the experience - its original design was created to provide the right setting for presenting Miró’s art.
During your visit, you will see an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, textiles and drawings. Thousands of works offer an insight into how the artist’s style evolved over the years and how he developed his own instantly recognisable artistic language.
The visit is complemented by the sculpture garden, where you can experience Joan Miró’s art beyond the museum galleries. It is a great opportunity to learn more about one of the most recognisable artists associated with Catalonia during your stay in Barcelona.
