Program Description
Discover some of Romania's most unusual attractions, where spectacular natural phenomena meet centuries-old winemaking traditions. This full-day excursion combines a visit to the country's largest salt mine, the fascinating Mud Volcanoes and one of Romania's best-known wine regions.
After hotel pick-up, you'll travel to Slănic Prahova, home to the largest salt mine in Romania and Eastern Europe. Famous for its vast underground chambers and unique microclimate, the mine is one of the country's most remarkable attractions. Visitors who wish may explore the interior of the mine.
The journey continues to the Mud Volcanoes near the town of Berca. Protected as a nature reserve since 1924, this extraordinary landscape resembles the surface of the moon, with bubbling mud formations created by natural gases rising from underground. Guests who wish may explore the reserve on foot.
Next, you'll head to the renowned Prahova Valley, one of Romania's most famous wine-producing regions. Visit a local winery, where you'll learn about the winemaking process from vineyard to bottle. Those interested may also take part in an optional wine tasting, followed by free time to relax.
After the excursion, you'll return to your hotel in Bucharest.
The itinerary and programme may be subject to change.
