Program Description
Discover the extraordinary side of Oman, where towering mountains, traditional villages and breathtaking panoras create a landscape full of contrasts. This journey offers a unique opportunity to experience the country’s authentic culture and admire some of the most spectacular views on the Arabian Peninsula.
Your adventure begins with a hotel pick-up and a scenic drive through the impressive Hajar Mountains, known for their rugged beauty and almost lunar-like landscapes. Along the way, you will pass through Nizwa, one of Oman’s most important historical cities, where you will make a short stop for photos and to capture its unique atmosphere.
The route then leads through the Al Hamra region, known for having one of the best-preserved traditional settlements in Oman. As you travel through this area, you will catch views of Misfah village, beautifully set on a mountainside, either from the route or a designated viewpoint. The village is surrounded by lush terraced fields and an ancient falaj irrigation system, recognised by UNESCO.
The highlight of the tour is the ascent to Jebel Shams, the highest peak in Oman, often called the “Mountain of the Sun”. From here, you will admire the spectacular Wadi Ghul, widely known as the “Grand Canyon of Oman”. Dramatic cliffs reaching depths of up to 1000 metres and striking rock formations create one of the most impressive natural landscapes in the region.
At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel with lasting memories of Oman’s remarkable scenery and authentic mountain atmosphere.
The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.

Reviews
A wonderful, easy-going trip where we could see the true face of Oman: beautiful Nijwa, a city that has retained its original character, and the Nijwa souk, where we could peacefully browse many authentic products. There were no pressures; we could look, touch, and buy whatever caught our eye. Our friendly guide, Ali, was eager to share his knowledge of his country. He agreed to take us to Jebels Akhdar, which captivated us with its majestic views of the vast canyon, beautiful villages nestled on sharp mountain slopes, and the opportunity to sample local delicacies. We saw more of Oman in one day than in several previous ones. The tour runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Lunch is included at a local restaurant, which may not be luxurious, but the taste of local produce was unmistakable. Of course, you could choose whatever you wanted. We recommend it.
