Program Description

Located in the heart of Villa Borghese Park, the Borghese Gallery is one of the most important art museums in Rome. This elegant 17th-century villa was commissioned by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, a passionate art collector who wanted to create a residence worthy of his impressive collection. Over time, the works he gathered became one of the most valuable art collections in Italy.

During your visit, you will discover remarkable masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance and Baroque. The richly decorated rooms of the gallery house famous sculptures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, admired for their dynamism and extraordinary attention to detail. You will also see elegant works by Antonio Canova, considered among the finest examples of Neoclassical sculpture.

The Borghese Gallery is also renowned for its impressive collection of paintings. On the walls you can admire works by masters such as Caravaggio, Raphael and Titian. Their paintings stand out for their intense colours, masterful use of light and shadow, and exceptional precision of detail.

Visits take place under carefully controlled conditions, as the number of visitors is limited. You will have 2 hours to explore the gallery, allowing you to appreciate both the artworks and the unique atmosphere of the historic interiors at a comfortable pace.

Walking through the gallery’s halls is not only an encounter with great art, but also a journey through time. You will learn about the history of the Borghese family collection and discover fascinating stories connected with the creation of the artworks that continue to captivate visitors from around the world.
