Program Description

Combine the fascinating volcanic history of Santorini with one of the most famous sunsets in Greece. This excursion offers the chance to explore the island’s unique volcanic landscapes, visit the caldera’s iconic islets and spend the evening in picturesque Oia.

The excursion begins with a transfer to Athinios Port, where you will board a boat heading towards Nea Kameni. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to walk up to the volcanic crater and admire panoramic views of the Santorini caldera. The landscape surrounding the volcano provides a remarkable insight into the powerful eruptions that shaped the island.

The next stop is Palea Kameni, famous for its natural hot springs. The warm waters are a result of ongoing volcanic activity beneath the surface and offer a unique experience in the heart of the caldera. The cruise then continues to Thirasia, a peaceful island that was once part of Santorini before the great volcanic eruption. There will be time to relax, explore the island and enjoy its traditional Cycladic atmosphere.

After returning to Athinios Port, the excursion continues by coach to Oia, one of Santorini’s most iconic villages. Its whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and dramatic cliffside setting make it one of the most photographed locations in Greece.

As the day comes to an end, you will witness the famous Santorini sunset, when the sky and sea are painted in shades of gold, orange and pink. The excursion concludes approximately 30 minutes after sunset, followed by the return transfer to your original departure point.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
