Program Description

Discover Santorini’s wine-making traditions during a visit to selected wineries across the island. This excursion offers the opportunity to learn about the history of local wine production, explore the island’s distinctive grape varieties and taste wines created in the unique conditions of Santorini’s volcanic landscape.

During the tour, you will visit both traditional and modern wineries, gaining insight into how wine production on Santorini has evolved over the years. You will learn more about local cultivation methods, the wine-making process and the characteristics that make Santorini’s wines stand out among those produced in other regions of Greece.

The first stop is Roussos Winery, one of the most traditional wineries on the island. Here, you will discover the history of local wine production and taste a selection of wines produced on Santorini.

The tour then continues to Koutsoyannopoulos Winery, whose history dates back to 1861. Alongside its historic wine-making facilities, the estate also features a modern winery that continues the island’s long-standing wine-making traditions.

Another highlight is Venetsanos Winery, located on the slopes of the caldera. Founded in 1947, the winery is known for its history as well as its views of the Santorini caldera and the surrounding volcanic islands.

At each winery, you will enjoy a tasting of selected wines, allowing you to discover the variety of flavours and aromas characteristic of Santorini.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
