Program Description
Discover some of the most fascinating places on Rhodes on a full-day excursion combining panoramic views, ancient landmarks, local traditions and beautiful natural surroundings. As you travel through the western part of the island, you will experience the diverse character of Rhodes – from historic sites to mountain villages and lush valleys.
Your first stop will be Filerimos Hill, offering panoramic views across the island. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit Filerimos Monastery and see the distinctive cross overlooking the surrounding area.
Next, you will travel through picturesque villages on the western side of Rhodes towards Ancient Kamiros. This is one of the island’s most important archaeological sites, where you can discover the remains of an ancient city. Your next stop will be Kritinia Castle, where you will have a short photo stop.
The journey then continues to the mountain village of Embona, known for its local traditions and wine production. You will have free time to enjoy lunch at one of the local tavernas, take a stroll, browse the shops and experience the peaceful atmosphere of the village. You will also visit a local winery, where you can enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.
The final stop of the day will be the famous Valley of the Butterflies, a lush green valley and one of the most distinctive natural attractions on Rhodes. A walk surrounded by abundant vegetation will be a relaxing way to round off your day of exploring the island.
After the visit, you will return to your hotel.
