Program Description
Discover the most beautiful corners of Rhodes on a full-day excursion that combines spectacular landscapes, local traditions, fascinating history and authentic flavours. From lush valleys and mountain villages to one of the most picturesque towns in Greece, this day promises unforgettable views and memorable experiences.
Your journey begins with a drive along the island’s western coast to one of its most famous attractions – the Valley of the Butterflies. This unique nature reserve becomes a seasonal sanctuary for thousands of butterflies. A walk along shaded paths, streams and lush vegetation offers a peaceful escape from the busy resorts and reveals a different side of Rhodes.
During the months when butterflies are not present, the programme includes a visit to Mount Filerimos instead. This historic site is known for its impressive cross overlooking the island and its breathtaking panoramic views of Rhodes and the surrounding coastline. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Monastery of Filerimos, closely linked to the history of the Knights of St John.
The tour then continues to the mountain village of Embona, considered the centre of local wine production. Here, you will enjoy a traditional Greek lunch and have free time to explore the village, browse local shops and take photographs of the surrounding scenery. You will also visit a local winery, where you can enjoy a tasting of regional wines and discover the flavours for which Rhodes is renowned.
In the afternoon, you will travel to the island’s eastern coast to visit one of Rhodes’ most iconic locations – Lindos. With its whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled streets and stunning setting above turquoise waters, this charming village captivates every visitor. If you wish, you can visit the Acropolis of Lindos, which offers spectacular views over St Paul’s Bay, one of the most photographed spots on the island.
There will also be free time to wander through the picturesque streets, shop for souvenirs and soak up the unique atmosphere of this historic village. After a day full of discoveries, you will return to your hotel.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
