Program Description
Set off on an exciting off-road adventure and discover a different side of Crete. This full-day experience takes you through scenic mountains, dramatic gorges, traditional villages and exotic beaches, combining breathtaking landscapes with authentic Cretan flavours.
Your journey begins at Lake Kournas, the only natural freshwater lake on Crete. From there, you will drive through the village of Kournas before following an off-road route through the Agios Ioannis Azilakas Forest, renowned for its unspoilt nature and beautiful scenery.
The next stop is the Argyroupoli Springs, where crystal-clear water flows beneath ancient plane trees. Enjoy some free time to relax and take photos before continuing through the Moundros Gorge, with a stop at a natural spring offering spectacular views.
Lunch will be served at a traditional taverna in the village of Aggouseliana, where you will enjoy authentic Cretan cuisine.
After lunch, the route continues through the Kotsifou Gorge, offering stunning views of the Libyan Sea, before reaching Preveli Beach and its famous palm forest. Here, the river meets the sea, creating one of Crete's most unique tropical landscapes. A walking trail leads down to the beach, while guests unable to use the trail for health reasons can enjoy swimming at the vehicle stop.
On the return journey, you will stop at the impressive Kourtaliotiko Gorge, followed by a panoramic viewpoint in the Three Monasteries area overlooking Rethymno. Before heading back to your hotel, you will be treated to a selection of local delicacies – a perfect way to end your Cretan adventure.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Greek Adventure Tour. The program was interesting, and the organization of the trip itself was excellent. Unfortunately, I have some reservations about the guide. I had selected and booked a Polish guide when booking, so I was very disappointed when it turned out the guide spoke English. For someone who doesn`t speak English, this makes it much more difficult to understand the information provided and fully enjoy the tour. I believe that if a Polish guide is offered during the booking process, it should be. Other than that, I gave the tour a positive review and would gladly use it again, provided a guide in the requested language is provided.
The trip was fantastic! Lots of beautiful views to see and an incredible jeep ride. I highly recommend it.
