Program Description
Get ready for a two-day journey to Luxor, one of the most important destinations of ancient Egypt, often called the “City of Palaces”. This experience combines fascinating history, impressive monuments and unforgettable views – both from the ground and high above it.
On the first day, you will travel back to the time of the pharaohs, discovering places that have amazed visitors for thousands of years. You will begin with a visit to the monumental Karnak Temple complex, expanded over approximately 1,500 years – one of the largest religious sites of the ancient world. Then, you will enjoy a cruise on the Nile, offering a completely different perspective of Egypt.
Along the way, you will see the impressive Colossi of Memnon – 18-metre-high statues that have stood guard over ancient temples for centuries. You will also visit the remarkable Temple of Hatshepsut, one of the most powerful female pharaohs in history. On the route, you will pass by the house of Howard Carter – the archaeologist who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun in 1922, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries ever made.
Next, you will explore the famous Valley of the Kings, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. You will step inside three royal tombs filled with colourful wall paintings and rich symbolism related to the afterlife. There will also be an opportunity to visit the tomb of Tutankhamun (optional). During the day, you may stop at an alabaster workshop, where you will discover local craftsmanship and find unique souvenirs. The day ends with an overnight stay in a 4-star hotel in Luxor.
On the second day, you will take part in a truly special experience – a hot-air balloon flight at sunrise over Luxor. After a short safety briefing, you will rise above the Nile, green fields and ancient temples. Watching the city awaken from above is a moment you will remember for a long time.
After landing, you will head to the East Bank to visit the Luxor Temple, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Built during the reign of Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramesses II, it stands as a powerful symbol of ancient Egyptian civilisation. Finally, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
