Grand Tour Jeep (Summer)

This tour allows you to discover the authentic side of Cyprus - far from the coastal resorts and well-trodden tourist routes. You will travel inland, where mountain landscapes, stone-built villages and local traditions create a completely different atmosphere from the seaside. It is a combination of adventure, nature and culture that reveals a less obvious face of the island.

You will drive through the Troodos mountain range, following small asphalt roads and well-maintained tracks. Along the way, there will be stops in traditional villages where daily life moves at a slower pace. As you wander through narrow streets, you will see stone houses and local kafenio - you may wish to pause for a traditional Cypriot coffee and experience the genuine rhythm of village life.

One of the first highlights is Great Rock of Episkopi, also known as the “Meteora of Cyprus”. This impressive rock formation rises prominently above the surrounding landscape and offers striking panoramic views. Its distinctive shape makes it one of the island’s more unusual natural landmarks.

The journey continues to Gelefos Bridge - a historic Venetian stone bridge hidden within the forests of Troodos. Built over a mountain stream, it stands as a reminder of the period when Cyprus played an important role in Mediterranean trade routes. Those who wish may take a short woodland walk towards the river.

There will also be a stop at a mountain waterfall nestled among pine trees. Cool water cascades down the rock face, creating a peaceful natural setting ideal for a short break and photographs.

You will also visit Omodos, one of the best-known villages in the Limassol wine-producing region. A walk along its cobbled streets offers insight into the traditional character of rural Cyprus. In the village centre stands the Monastery of the Holy Cross (Timios Stavros), dating back to the 4th century and traditionally associated with Saint Helena. It remains an important religious and historical landmark on the island.

At the end of the tour, you will arrive at Petra tou Romiou, widely known as Aphrodite’s Rock. According to legend, this is the birthplace of the goddess of love, who emerged from the sea foam at this very spot. During the summer season, there may be an opportunity for a swim, while throughout the year it provides a spectacular backdrop for photographs.

During the day, lunch will be served in a mountain taverna. You will enjoy freshly prepared local dishes, including vegetarian options. Wine, water and lemonade are included with the meal. It is an opportunity to sample traditional Cypriot flavours and relax in a peaceful rural setting.
