Program Description
Montenegro may be a small country, but it is rich in spectacular landscapes, historic towns and cultural heritage. During this tour, you will discover the Bay of Kotor, considered one of the most beautiful corners of the Adriatic, and visit places where history and nature have coexisted for centuries.
Your first stop will be the historic town of Perast, located on the shores of the Bay of Kotor. From here, you will enjoy a short boat trip to the small island of Our Lady of the Rocks. This is one of Montenegro's most iconic landmarks, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and dramatic mountain scenery. On the island, you will visit the 17th-century church of the same name, renowned for its remarkable frescoes painted by Tripo Kokolja, one of the most celebrated Baroque artists in the Balkans.
The tour then continues to Kotor, a medieval town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and often referred to as the pearl of the Adriatic. During a guided walk through the Old Town, you will learn about the history of this remarkable place and discover its most distinctive corners. Afterwards, you will have free time to explore the town at your own pace, stroll through its charming streets or relax in one of the local cafés. This is also a great opportunity to take a closer look at some of Kotor's most famous landmarks, including St Tryphon's Cathedral and the Maritime Museum, both reflecting the town's rich history and long-standing maritime traditions.
On the return journey, the route passes through the small settlement of Lepetane, offering another opportunity to admire the landscapes of the Bay of Kotor and the mountains that surround it. It is the perfect moment to soak up the beauty of Montenegro before returning to Dubrovnik.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
