Program Description

Konavle is a region that has captivated visitors for centuries with its peaceful landscapes, green valleys and traditions passed down from generation to generation. During this excursion, you will discover the authentic side of southern Croatia, learn about local customs and sample regional specialities. It is a wonderful opportunity to step into a world where life moves at a slower pace.

Your journey begins at a local winery, where you will learn about the history of viticulture in this part of Croatia and taste wines shaped by the region's unique climate. Afterwards, you will enjoy a scenic ride on a tourist train, travelling through the Konavle vineyards while admiring the beauty of the surrounding countryside.

The next part of the excursion takes you to the village of Ljuta, where traditions connected with rural life have been carefully preserved. You will visit a historic watermill powered by the river's current and discover how flour was produced in the past. You will also learn about wool processing, a traditional craft that played an important role in the everyday lives of Konavle's inhabitants for centuries.

Wine is an essential part of the region's identity. At further wineries, you will sample selected local wines and learn more about the methods used to produce them. It is a great opportunity to discover flavours that have become a hallmark of southern Dalmatia.

During the excursion, you will also taste a traditional snack once carried by Konavle's farmers while working in the fields. Bacon, onions and hard-boiled eggs create a simple yet distinctive combination that reflects the region's customs and culinary heritage. It is a chance to experience flavours that have accompanied everyday life in this part of Croatia for generations.
