Program Description
Dreaming of catching your first wave and experiencing the thrill of riding a surfboard? Famara Beach in Lanzarote is an excellent place to start your surfing adventure! With guidance from experienced instructors, you will learn the basics of surfing, practise your balance and try riding the ocean waves.
During the 2-hour surfing lesson, you will learn how to paddle correctly, recognise approaching waves and smoothly pop up to a standing position on your board. Before attempting to catch your first wave, you will practise essential movements and balance techniques. Your instructors will also explain water safety and surfing etiquette, helping you build confidence while learning the fundamentals.
The lesson begins with practice in the gentler waves close to shore. As your confidence grows, you will gradually take on more waves and improve your technique. With small groups of up to 8 participants per instructor, you will receive guidance suited to your abilities and have the freedom to progress at your own pace.
No previous surfing experience is required! All necessary surfing equipment, including a foam surfboard and wetsuit, is provided. Simply arrive 45 minutes before the lesson starts to collect your equipment and get ready for your time on the beach.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy an active experience in Lanzarote, learn a new skill and discover the excitement of catching a wave on your own!

- Changing facilities are available at the meeting point.
- Showers and lockers are not provided.
- Personal belongings can be left in a private vehicle or in a shared storage container on the beach.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult when completing the registration form.
- Children aged 10–14 who cannot use a surfboard independently must be accompanied by an adult.
