Program Description

This is a unique opportunity to discover a piece of authentic Albania - its unspoiled nature, rarely visited by tourists. Thanks to a short journey (around 1.5 hours from Golem), you can experience, in just one day, a place completely different from the coastal resorts.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will head inland to Holta Canyon. There, you'll be amazed by extraordinary rock formations rising up to 100 metres high. You'll have the chance to bathe in a natural thermal pool, valued for its rich mineral content, before setting off on an approximately 1.5-kilometre walk into the canyon carved by the Holta River.

The trail follows the riverbed and involves crossing the river several times - usually knee-deep, though in two places you will need to wade through water reaching approximately waist height. This excursion can be explored at your own pace, making it an ideal choice for families with children - everyone decides for themselves how far they'd like to go.

For those interested, there is an option to enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch (additional charge), served right at the entrance to the canyon, in the shade of spreading fig trees - a great opportunity to try local cuisine.

After an unforgettable day surrounded by unspoiled landscapes, you'll return to your hotel with wonderful memories and plenty of photos.

The trip was great, the only downside was the lunch for 15 euros, which consisted of a small dry piece of meat, usually fries and tomato slices, we expected something more after reading about a traditional Albanian lunch on offer.

The views along the way were great, the whole trip was okay, and the guide, Kris, was very approachable and provided interesting facts along the way. The water was cold at 35 degrees Celsius, making it a bit of a shock to get in. Overall, it was okay, and I recommend it. I recommend wearing water shoes with fairly hard soles for walking on rocks.
