Pickup from the hotels. The first stop on the tour is a drive to the Kanoni peninsula, where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the island of Pontikonisi, also known as Mouse Island. Then, descend the stairs to the Vlacherna Monastery. Following in the footsteps of Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria, famously known as Sissi, and Kaiser Wilhelm II, the next stop is Achillion Palace, now functioning as a museum. The palace was named after the hero of the Trojan War, Achilles, whose statue stands out among the others in the surrounding gardens. Continue on to the west coast and Paleokastritsa with its Byzantine monastery. This monastery, adorned with old icons and beautiful frescoes, has become one of the most visited on the island. Situated atop a gentle hill surrounded by the blue sea, it is a male monastery. Enjoy some free time at the beach bay of the village before proceeding to the next destination. Above Paleokastritsa, on Mount Arakli, lies the Bella Vista viewpoint, offering one of the most breathtaking views in Corfu. Next, head to a traditional olive press. The olive museum takes you on a journey through the history of the olive tree and olive oil. Step by step, you will witness the process of oil production, from a wooden press dating back to the 16th century to a modern centrifuge. Conclude the tour with a tasting of olive oil before returning to the hotels.
Due to ongoing interior renovations at the Achillion Palace, visiting its interiors is currently not possible.
