Program Description

A trip to the Troodos Mountains, known as the green heart of Cyprus, is a perfect opportunity to discover a completely different side of the island. Away from the coastal resorts, you will explore the peaceful interior, filled with vineyard landscapes, mountain views and traditional villages where life moves at a slower pace.

During the journey, you will travel through scenic areas covered with vineyards and the forests of Troodos, which impress with their natural beauty and fresh mountain air. The first stop will be the Chrysorogiatissa Monastery, set among rolling hills and renowned for its centuries-old history and intimate atmosphere that invites a moment of reflection.

You will then head to one of the most important sites on the island – the Kykkos Monastery, whose origins date back to the 11th century. It is the most famous and wealthiest monastery in Cyprus, as well as a significant pilgrimage destination. Inside, you can find the icon of the Virgin Mary, traditionally believed to have been painted by Saint Luke the Evangelist, which has attracted pilgrims and travellers from around the world for centuries.

The next point of the excursion is the village of Pedoulas, picturesquely located on the slopes of the Troodos Mountains. A walk through its narrow streets will allow you to experience the authentic atmosphere of the Cypriot countryside. There will also be free time for lunch and a local wine tasting, giving you the chance to discover regional flavours and learn about local winemaking traditions.

To conclude the day, you will stop at the highest viewpoint in the Troodos Mountains and at Troodos Square, where wide panoramas of the surrounding peaks and valleys open up before you. It is the perfect moment for photos and for calmly admiring landscapes that will stay with you long after the trip ends. After a day full of impressions, you will return to Paphos.

The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.
