Program Description

This excursion offers a unique opportunity to cross the UN-patrolled border and discover a land of striking contrasts, rich history and unforgettable views. It is a day filled with exploration, cultural heritage and places that have shaped the fate of this part of the Mediterranean for centuries.

The journey begins at ancient Salamis, one of the most important archaeological sites on the island. Located along the eastern coast, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, Salamis served as the capital of Cyprus for over a thousand years. Walking among the impressive ruins, it is easy to imagine the former power and significance of this ancient city. The guide will introduce the fascinating history of the Greek kingdom that once flourished here and explain why Salamis is considered a symbol of the entire Mediterranean region.

The tour then continues to Famagusta, a city with  a vibrant and turbulent past. Here, it is possible to admire the impressive St. Nicholas Cathedral, a remarkable example of Gothic architecture, as well as the famous Othello Tower, closely linked to the city’s defensive history and legends. This part of the excursion also includes free time, perfect for enjoying lunch, strolling through the atmospheric old town or exploring the city at a relaxed pace.

Before leaving the region, there is a stop at Constantia Beach, offering panoramic views of the legendary ghost town of Varosha. Behind barbed wire fencing lies a once-thriving seaside resort, abandoned and frozen in time since 1974.  This moving place offers more profound insight into Cyprus's history

This excursion is a remarkable chance to cross borders – both literal and symbolic – and experience the extraordinary historical and cultural heritage of Northern Cyprus, where ancient civilizations meet modern history.

The order of sightseeing and the program may be subject to change.
