We begin our inspiring tour of Shanghai's vibrant city with a walk through the historic Yuyuan Garden. This peaceful world of bamboo groves, ponds filled with koi carp and Ming Dynasty pavilions was lovingly created in the 16th century by a government official as a refuge for his parents, and now serves as a peaceful sanctuary in the center of the city. Next, explore the Old City, which forms a crowded maze of narrow streets with antique and jewelry stores, local eateries and the centuries-old Temple of the City God. Lunch at a local restaurant is next, followed by a tour of the Jade Buddha Temple. The final point of the tour is a stroll along the Bund - waterfront promenade, where you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of Shanghai. Free time. Return to the meeting point.
